THE HIRE SHOP RENTAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

AGE

To hire a 50cc moped or electric motor Bikes drivers must be over the age of 18 and hold a full driving licence.

To hire a 125cc moped, drivers must be aged 21 years or over, and hold a full motorbike or car licence for a minimum of 3 years.

It is a criminal offence to carry passengers under the age of 12 years.

It is Spanish Law that all users as well as passengers must wear Crash Helmets for any of the above Vehicles.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED

The Hire Shop require originals of a full driving licence where applicable, passport, home address, and holiday address if on vacation. Copies will be taken of documents before Hire period commences.

DELIVERY, PAYMENT AND DEPOSITS

Full payment must be made before or at the time of hire in either the Hire Shop or through our website. This can be done either by card or cash. Receipts for payment will be provided . Factura receipts will require an NIE number.

DEPOSITS WILL BE REQUIRED FOR ALL HIRES AS PER OUR HIRE AGREEMENT

CANCELLATION

We understand that due to reasons beyond the customers control that flights and travel plans may change, No Cancellation Charges will be made and Deposit Returned in Full if

Cancelled within 24 Hours of Hire Date Commencing.

In other circumstances notice will be 48 hours.

CDW 3RD PARTY INSURANCE

The CDW (Collision Damage Wavier) is included within the price shown online. The CDW cover the hirer for third party accidents although not for any damage, loss or theft of the hire vehicle. It does not cover loss of keys, tyres, traffic fines, incorrect fuel or any damage or loss to our equipment.

Our insurance has an excess of €500 for any damage to a third party which is the responsibility of the hirer to pay. Upgraded packages can be purchased to lower the excess and extra cover not included in the basic package.

The CDW is also made void if you fail to comply with any of your T&C’s meaning that you will be responsible for any damages to the vehicle and for their repair. The Hire Shop are not responsible for Personal Belongings being Left with the Vehicle

As this is not Covered by our CDW ( Collision damage waiver )

EXCESS INSURANCE

Excess insurance is available for purchase with different reduction limits. Please ask at the Hire Shop or see our website for details.

TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS

Any Traffic violations, Parking offences, or Breach of Local Rules & Regulations will be paid in full by the hirer plus an additional 25€ administration fee.

ALCOHOL AND DRUGS

The hirer is fully responsible of the value of the vehicle, if it is found that the driver is involved in any kind of any incident or accident and is above the legal limits.

ACCIDENTS

In the event of an accident you have to notify The Hire Shop immediately on our contact number You will need to stay with the vehicle at all times. You must take full details of all parties involved. Complete the accident form which is provided in the storage compartment of the moped or motor scooter. (without completion of this form a claim cannot be made). Do not admit or accept responsibility for the accident unless you are 100% sure and understand everything that you are signing. Do not abandon the vehicle. It is the renters responsibility to Inform the police immediately of accident details or any injuries, police can be contacted on 112. If you fail to perform any of these steps will lead to your insurance being void leaving you the renter responsible for all damages and repair costs.

DRIVING RESTRICTIONS

The vehicle cannot be taken out of mainland Spain.

Hirers agree to the hire shop contract

Any damage to tyre or wheels are at the expense of the renter.

Rental agreement, ID and driving licence should be carried with the hirer at all times to comply with Spanish laws.

RESPONSIBILITY OF THE HIRER/DRIVER.

Crash helmets will be provided free of charge to the driver. Passenger are required to wear helmets and can be purchased from The Hire Shop.

Any damage to the hired item will be charged accordingly.

Loss of keys will be charged at €200 This is not covered by your insurance excess waiver.

The vehicle hired to the hirer shall be the sole responsibility of the hirer for duration of the rental period of the rental agreement contract, the following applies to all rentals:

Only those named on the rental agreement have permission to drive the vehicle.

It is not permitted to use the vehicle to transport goods.

It is not permitted to use the vehicle to tow other vehicles.

It is not permitted to use the vehicle to participate in races, competitions or challenges.

It is not permitted to use the vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs or any other cause which may impair the ability to drive the car in a correct manner.

It is not permitted to use the vehicle to transport any pets/animals.

It is not permitted to use the vehicle to transport more passengers than law allows.

It is not permitted to modify the Moped in anyway, this included removal of any stickers on the vehicle.

BATTERY OPERATED VEHICLES

All battery operated vehicles will be fully charged and include a charger at the start of the Hire agreement. However: Battery life varies depending on the type of vehicle you are hiring. Please check at the start of hire contract the length of time the battery lasts.

It is the hirer’s responsibility to ensure that the battery is charged before use.

The Hire Shop will not be responsible for recovery of any vehicle where the battery has run out. A minimum charge of €30 will be charged (depending on the distance) of any vehicle recovered

SECURITY LOCKS.

It is the Hirers responsibility to use the security locks which are supplied free of charge on vehicles while stationary or out of use.

FUEL

Vehicle Fuel will be checked out and Marked on our Hire agreement and it is the Hirers Responsibility to Return Vehicle with the same amount of Fuel, if the Hirer fails to comply the Hire Shop will charge €20 Labour plus Re-Fuelling Charges as Necessary.

WRONG FUEL ADDED

If the Hirer fills one of our Vehicles with the wrong Fuel a €200 Charge will apply to rectify

the Problem.

MOBILITY SCOOTER HIRE

All Mobility Scooters are for Hire as a Mobility aid and not for Leisure use, The Hirer will be responsible for any damage caused by negligence or abuse.

Electric Charger will be supplied with the Scooter and it is the responsibility of the Hirer to ensure the Scooter has adequate power during the Hire Period.
